About Our Charity

FurFright works to aid The United States War Dogs Association.

The United States War Dogs Association, Inc. is a nonprofit organization of former and current US Military Dog Handlers and supporting members committed to honoring the long history of Military Service Dogs, aiding Military/Police/Search and Rescue Service Dogs who are currently serving our country, and educating the public about their invaluable service and sacrifice.

What the United States War Dogs Association does:

  1. Educates the public about the service and sacrifice of Military Working Dogs, past and present (via an educational display/presentation that travels to schools, events, etc).
  2. Sending care packages of equipment and necessities to Military Working Dogs currently serving overseas (providing items like cooling vests, cooling mats, sand goggles, booties, ear and eye wash, flea and tick products, toys, etc)
  3. Rallying public support and collecting petitions to enact laws that aid/protect Military Working Dogs, Police K9s, and Search and Rescue Dogs.
  4. Working to get retired Military Working Dogs adopted into loving homes.
  5. Establishing a national War Dog Memorial and commemorative stamp, so that these forgotten dogs and veterans can be properly honored, and so future generations know of their service and sacrifice.

Your donations are used to help provide these vital services:

  1. Each year the USWDA ships hundreds of care packages to Military Working Dog Teams serving overseas. Items like high-tech cooling equipment, protective gear, healthcare items, necessities, shipping fees, etc cost a substantial amount of money.
  2. The bulk of donations are used to purchase equipment that helps Military Working Dogs survive. As you know, dogs cannot sweat, and the reason we never leave a dog in a car in warm weather is because the extreme heat can lead to brain damage and death. The War Dogs serving in the desert work in 125-degree heat, and the high-tech cooling vests, cooling mats, and other necessities are literally keeping these dogs alive and healthy.
  3. Maintaining/expanding the educational display, and travel to school events.
  4. Equipment, materials, overhead costs, and all aspects of running/maintaining their organization.
